Recognizing the changes of our healthcare, Dr. Zofakis expanded her expertise beyond clinical care by serving on the board of one of the first independent, physician-led Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) in the state of Illinois. In this role, she helped lead efforts to improve quality outcomes while navigating the complexities of shared savings models and healthcare reform.
Dr. Zofakis is passionate about the unique role of independent practices in delivering personalized, patient-centered care. She brings experience from various international healthcare systems, complemented by her academic background in Sociology and Anthropology. Recognizing the profound influence of culture on health, she is currently pursuing studies at The Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. She remains actively involved in all aspects of healthcare-clinical, educational, and administrative because the art of medicine should not follow a single path.
Outside of work, she cherishes time with her three children, enjoying family outings to national parks, zoos, museums, and botanic gardens, as well as creative activities like arts and crafts and hands-on science projects at home.
Her approach is both clinical and supportive—She focuses on improving overall skin health while also addressing concerns like acne, pigmentation, texture, hydration, and signs of aging. She believes in creating realistic, effective plans that help the patients achieve long-term results, not just quick fixes.
